For more than a decade, Ellen has painted at events while they are happening, capturing the energy and movement of weddings, balls, musical events, graduation parties, engagement celebrations... The entire painting is started and finished over the 2-3 hours of the function, and the outcomes are always delightful.
How Does Langford Live Work?
Whether a private party or a not-for-profit fundraising event, Ellen will arrive beforehand to set up her easel and begin her painting. She will require about a 5’x5’ minimum area in which to lay down a dropcloth, set up her easel and paint.
FOR PRIVATE EVENT
For private events, Ellen will paint your painting on one of four sizes of either gallery-wrapped canvas or a cradled birch panel. (If lead time is less than 2 weeks, inquire what sizes are in stock) These prices are her regular prices plus the 20% commission for the event painting.

FOR FUNDRAISING EVENT
Ellen will paint your fundraising event.
This has proved to be a successful fundraising device as the party-goers enjoy watching the painting of themselves evolve during the party, and if the auctioning of the painting is well-communicated before and during the event, folks become invested in the final painting and excited about owning the painting themselves. The usual not-for-profit event painting is painted on a 16x24 cradled birch panel. This size retails for $1000. In an auction setting, these paintings reach between $1000-$4000.
Ellen asks a 50% commission of the final auction price, with a minimum reserve of $500.
